Minimum bid quantities are set at 25,000 tonnes, with rice required to be free of odour, mould, or infestation, ensuring high-quality exports for Bangladesh’s domestic market.

Bangladesh has been actively seeking rice imports to stabilize domestic prices amid fluctuating local supply. Notably, Pakistani exporters gained an advantage in the US market after a 50 percent tariff on Indian goods, with American buyers accounting for 24 percent of Pakistan’s basmati rice exports over the past year.
