DigiPlus Pauses Brazil Game Launch to Recalibrate Strategy for 2026 Relaunch (October 15, 2025-Wednesday

Summary

Philippine-based DigiPlus Interactive Corp. has paused the soft launch of its Brazilian gaming platform GamePlus, aiming to fine-tune cultural and market alignment before a planned relaunch in early 2026.

DigiPlus Interactive Corp. temporarily halted the rollout of its GamePlus platform in Brazil to adjust its products to local player preferences, a move analysts say reflects strategic pragmatism rather than weakness.

“The delay may concern short-term investors, but it shows management’s flexibility and focus on long-term success,” said Luis Limlingan of Regina Capital. Juan Paolo Colet of China Bank Capital added that the pause allows DigiPlus “to revisit assumptions and localize offerings for Brazilian users.”

Chairman Eusebio Tanco said the pause, effective October 10, will help ensure that GamePlus “resonates deeply with Brazilian culture and entertainment habits.” The company’s Philippines and Brazil teams are now working on an enhanced version, targeting a relaunch in early 2026.

GamePlus debuted in late September with over 150 games, offering both free-to-play and real-money options. DigiPlus used its three-week soft launch to gather player data for improvement. Analysts say the move won’t hurt its broader expansion, as the company also pursues new gaming licenses in South Africa.

DigiPlus shares closed 0.64% lower at ₱23.45 on Tuesday following the announcement.
