Police were called to Lewis Bradley Park, located near Embassy Avenue and Inverhouse Drive, around 6:30 a.m. after a vulnerable elderly woman was reported missing. During their search, officers found her suffering from serious lower-body injuries, and Peel paramedics performed urgent life-saving measures before transporting her to hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

Authorities believe the woman may have spent the night wandering before she was found.

No Foul Play Suspected, But Eyewitnesses Report Coyote Involvement

While police stated there is currently no evidence of foul play, multiple eyewitnesses told CTV News that the injuries appear consistent with a coyote attack. One witness reported seeing signs of a struggle behind a tree near the park’s playground.

Residents living near Lewis Bradley Park have raised concerns about wildlife activity in the area, despite the City of Mississauga reporting that coyote sightings there have been “very few” recently and that no active advisories are in place.

City Reminds Public About Wildlife Caution

Mississauga officials advise residents to remain cautious around wooded parks, especially during early morning or late-night hours when wildlife is more active. Anyone who spots potentially aggressive wildlife is urged to report it to city authorities immediately.
